All adults (anyone over the age of 18) volunteering with children and vulnerable adults in our church parish are required by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Diocese of Baton Rouge to meet certain child protection requirements. This includes activities such as, but are not limited to:

To be Child Protection certified, you must complete the following:
1. Volunteer Application with Background Check - click here for Application for Volunteers .
2. Safe Environment Certification – “Serving Vulnerable Populations and Diocesan Code of Ethics” training course

Volunteers for the following are most appreciated:
Catechist - A love of sharing your faith with children is necessary! A background in
teaching is not needed. We’ll train you!
Substitute Catechist - Take over a class when the regular catechist is not able to
teach.
Classroom Helper – Assist catechist with classroom activities.
